Walter Beebe is the Chairman of the New York Open Center, a nonprofit holistic learning center that seeks to integrate the intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual elements of life, which he founded in 1983 . By 2007 it was teaching over 10,000 participants annually. For 40 years he was an active attorney admitted to the New York, Federal, and U.S. Supreme Courts. Among several present and former nonprofit Boards of Directors, he served the Bank Street College of Education, the Interfaith Center of New York and the Near East Foundation, as well as corporate clients. In 1989, he created Garden Associates to advise other nascent centers similar to the Open Center.
